While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat,
summer and winter, day and night shall not cease.
Genesis 8:22

It was a warm Sunday afternoon and the sun was high in the sky when we took to Whittamore's Farm to spend a few hours fellowshipping and enjoying God’s creation together. The excursion did not disappoint, and there was fun to be had for all! They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I hope these images offer some insight into the marvelous afternoon.

There were hay bales to climb and pumpkins to pick. There was a small petting zoo complete with goats, ducks, chickens and even a donkey!

Looking around and seeing all the pumpkins and corn reminded me of a verse in the bible.

Luke chapter 10 and verse 2 says: He told them, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

This verse is not speaking of a physical harvest of produce or grain, but rather it is talking about a spiritual harvest. This verse reminds Christians of the importance of praying for those who work in the mission field and for those who dedicate themselves to the spreading of the gospel. Am I diligent in my prayers for those working in the Lord’s harvest field?

The day’s festivities continued with a wagon ride and games on the large rubber trampolines. Teens and toddlers alike enjoyed jumping on the large mats and playing tag and hide and go seek.

The afternoon finished off with a pumpkin cannon! Small pumpkins were shot out of a barrel into an old van to determine how much damage they could cause. Next, pumpkins were shot for distance...one reached nearly 400 meters! It was a blast...literally!

All in all, it was a lovely outing where we were able to grow together as a church...we hope that next time you’ll join us!
